PLEASE NOTE: My Family Ran a Successful Collectibles Shop here in Portland Oregon from 1970-1990 (then Closing their Shop continued with Mail Order Sales & Doing Shows). Now with the New Century, it's a Web world.
WE Ourselves were Always Serious Collectors, Buyers & then Sellers. Constantly keeping up with the times we created markets & catered to markets BEFORE Price Guides were ever Invented. Trying to Help others to realize during the late 1960's & 70's that Paper & Other Modern Collectibles including Comic Books, Lunch Boxes, Baseball cards, Games, Movie & TV Memorabilia, Halloween Costumes, Character Toys, Etc. Should NOT be tossed away & should be Cherished as Part of All of our Childhoods.
Back then Antiques were the main staple of Collectibles & they needed to be 100 Years old to Qualify & mostly just included the standard things like Glass, Furniture, etc... Those Antiques Dealers laughed at Fun Nostalgic Items even if they were from the 1920's-30's-40's-50's.. as they were considered too New?!
People today tend to forget that the things we had as kids had alot to do with the type of people we are today. Good or Bad... thank Goodness for The Lone Ranger, Uncle Scrooge, Superman, Popeye, The Flintstones, The Beatles, Good Movies, Old Time Radio Shows, Television Before Cable, etc.
Thanks for reading,
